Vega-Man, the large sealed box that you used or the Volfhag woofers has low power compression. Volfhag might tested their woofers where the air is less dense.
Bandpass might be good to used for these woofers because sometimes it improves the woofer's performance. Though, the designer have to make a few boxes and blown a few woofers before he or she gets good performance.
I will get Apline or other manufactures that is not Volfhag. Volfhag looks like it came from Radio Shack. I do have some Radio Shack speakers but they are discontinued. The specs are much better than the paper shows. Two of my shielded 5 inch full range speakers has a Q of 0.7 but on paper it shows a Q of 1.03. My 6.5 dual voice coil woofers are the same way but are much better Q than most drivers that I seen at Parts Express. This looks like it is the luck of the draw with Volfhag woofers. I recommed you measure every speaker driver before using them in your next project.
