My computer can handle anything. Beats Pentium 4 (1.2GHz). Processor is AMD 800 MHz Athlon 'Classic'. It has enough memory (512 megabytes of SDRAM) for several applications. It isn't the speed of the processor. It is the file system or the hard drive too. Software and hardware decoders uses the hard drive to store the next few frames before it goes out to the video. You might see your hard drive light flicker every few seconds. My file system is very fast. It beats my brother's computer (1.3 GHz AMD althon) file system. My computer gets bored when I used not so processor intensive programs. The only time when it wakes up is during rendering (3D scenes and finalizing Adobe Premiere videos). I did not do any overclocking or tweaking. Memory speed is still at PC100.

Pentium 4 are great but AMD can execute much faster and more efficiently. AMD's new Althon XP are clocked slower than Pentium 4s. However, Althon XPs do more work per cycle than Pentium 4s.

I'm sorry I went off topic.
