The only first video card that had DVD decoding hardware was ATI's Rage 128. Though, ATI video output is great, their drivers are written poorly. Then Nvidia entered this year with their hardware decoding although this is only on the latest video cards. I'll bet you found the cheap DVD decoder cards that didn't do a good job. I recently used WinDVD and I didn't see the difference from PowerDVD and ATI DVD player. Windows hogs all the power of computers. Try using LINUX. However, it is hard to set up or use if you haven't used DOS.

Projectors are only for presenting business and school projects. HDTV should be used if you care about video quality. As I said earlier, HDTV is easier to hook directly to the computer because HDTV has the same technology as computer screens.

White LEDs are very bright. One LED (3000mcd) that I used from Radio Shack lit a huge room without using any mirrors to direct all the light in one direction. However, the blue halo is also created, so a filter to block this out is needed.

LEDs can be powered from any DC power source (high voltage to low voltage). All they need is a resistor in series with them. Several LEDs can be hooked up in series to increase their working voltage (forward voltage) while staying at low current of 20 milliamps. This saves you on using high wattage resistors that can take a lot of space. Each white LEDs working voltage is ~3.5 volts.

Soon we will have video displays using minature LEDs.
