You could get an HDTV. They are much better than projectors. You don't get that blan line problem with HDTV than you do with projectors. HDTV has the same technology as computer monitors so it can hook up directly to the VGA port on the computer.

If you are making a HTPC, get a decoder card. Then change the output resolution to 1600 X 1200. Before you get one, look through the motherboard manual to find out where to insert it. This is because motherboards have a certain PCI slot to flip-flop from video card to decoder card. Most motherboards have the slot near the video card. Inserting a card near the video card will create problems in the future. I suggest you leave one PCI slot open for the video card to breath. When selecting fans, look for 25dba or lower. 25dba is being the quietest and anythin lower than that is being silent or can not be heard. If you hate using fans try using thermoelectric. It is a solidstate cooler. It can also generate electricity if you want it to.

If you feel being creative. Use several white LEDs. LEDs last a long time and they can with stand up to 10 times more voltage. You need to tell the fan inside the project to take a vacation because LEDs create several times less heat than bulbs.
