Thanks for all your suggestions, guys. The Brahma is impressive, however I think I may go with the 1259, in part for financial reasons.
About foam suspensions - generally foam is a little more compliant than rubber, but I have seen some highly compliant rubber suspensions. Also, although foam may not deteriorate as fast in a home environment, it certainly does. I've changed enough Cerwin Vega red's (amoung others) to know.
