Ok man, seriously now: aluminum is softer than steel, but look at the pics of those BPD drivers: those are some over-built frames. Look, thick, cast aluminum would be way stiffer than, say, a stamped steel frame.
Have you tried BPD? Did you notice a lot of non-linearities?
Are you some kind of metal worker that you have so much experience working with aluminum and steel? I grew up on a farm, and I've had plenty of experience fabricating things out of steel and aluminum. Yes, aluminum is noticeably softer *when it's in a flat sheet.* Trust me: when you make an I-beam or some such structure out of aluminum it is stiff as hell.
