Subject: Re: Peerless 10" XLS with 10" or 12" Passive...

projected was completed. The 6 (actually 5dB) boost is too much. I found a design to change the amp to a Linkwitz 4th order transformer. This will allow a sharper filter and also help reduce harmonic content. I believe the Peerless 10" XLS with 10" PR will be best without any low end bass boost. The performance is good, but at 35Hz on up my ProAc clones have better bass by far. The Peerless are very good as one could expect, however the new to be released Seas 10" Excel should be much closer the the ProAc 8535 mid/bass performance. I doubt the Seas would have the dynamic range or 'slam' impact, however I do not need 'slam'.
