I knew about baffle step, but hadn't learned how to solve the problem. My goal was to build the system first, figure out what has to be done through measuring, and then learn how to accomplish what I'd need.
I still need to learn how to make notch filters, etc., and all the little tools which can elevate a system from mediocre to stellar. In any case, I checked out the active x-over diagram that Linkwitz has on his page, and I find it pretty scary. I think I'll take the electronic side one step at a time.
