I know Pioneer is now advertising their headunits as having the power to drive a subwoofer. . . .If you do not want loud as you stated, you should be ok. I agree with Jon, I would hook one coil on each rear channel, and not try the single channel setup.
Or, I have a DVC Infinity Reference 10" (the one with the green cone) and a pair 100 watt JBL amps (100 watts to each coil) I would sell for $150 + shipping :o)
