A caddy cat huh?? Love it... had a 79 myself.
In any case, the MTX is a damn decent amp... from what I have seen it do, and especially for the price you can snag it for. If you are going car audio environment, then why not tune the port to 35hz or 40hz to gain a tad in SPL, unless you are after a strict SQ. I'm just thinking the panels of a car that old may not hold up too well to bass notes that long.
In any case, if you haven't done anything extra to the electrical system of the caddy, I would highly suggest a cap, or another battery. The PE.com cap should do it, check ebay. I just saw a guy unloading Fosgate caps for 67 a pop. In any case, sounds like a decent potential setup... good luck and take pics. You'll want them... I'm telling you.
