My second post is correct.
double the power to a driver, you get 3 dB
add a second driver, but no more power, you get 3 dB
add a second driver, double the power so the second driver gets the same amount as the first, and the power to the first driver is not reduced (this could be a 2nd amp, or the amps power doubles due to lower impedance), you get 6dB
