I think I made my post sound confusing. Let me try again:
In short, if you take a single driver and you double the power going to it, you will get 3 dB more output.
If you add a second driver, but you do not increase the power output, you will get 3 dB more output.
If you add a second driver, and your amp is able to increase its current output to allow double power output, you will get 6 dB more output. That would be = to adding another driver and another amp if the amp you are using is not capable of doubling its output.
If someone disagrees with this, please explain. . .
