You may have heard Cerwin Vega home stuff a while back, but their car stuff is really bout 3 years old... at leats the real goos tsuff anyways.
Right now...in my current car which is a 91 shadow, I have 3 Cerwin Vega 12D4's with a fosgate bd1000 amp. I had two of their 10's a while back in there for mids too, but was redesigning boxes etc for them. As for Vega's extreme stuff, the Strokers... unmatched seismic bass. I've never heard a single speaker play as loud as long with as much power as a stroker in the right box in a car or truck. That is just the way it goes.
They are a bit pricey, but that is why so many of us suggest eBay. Yeha it's an auction blahsy blah, but I got 2 PPI 10" subs brand new 2001 series for like $35 a piece and they sound good. Hell... if you were lookin for sheer bass obliteration stef, go with 1 stroker 15 and the bd1000 amp. You will remain unmatched if you have the right wires and some amount of dynamat.
BTW - The last time I rated my 12's which was not in show, I hit 156.3 or something like that. Ain't bad. But I betcha it's truthfully louder than that.
