Subject: a wOOx type deal...

I read a couple of weeks ago all the hub-bub this forum had regarding Phillips' woox technology. How it was no more than a PR with a wierd tuned port in the back or something... a couple people said it wasn't even a legitimate claim of greatness.

I got to thinking of PR's and ports... and said shit!! What if I put a PR with a port. Now this would just be a plain stupid idea, think about it, a port AND a passive radiator. Imagine the glob of noise that would come outta that thing. But what if you created a 6th order BP design with a port on one end and a PR on the other...

For example, put a 10 in a 6th order BP to volume specs, and on the magnet end put a 12" PR let's say, and on the other end put a proper port. If I'm not mistaken, a PR is tuned via weighting (??!!) and the port is tuned via volume. So both are adjustable, and/or vise versa. Has anyone tried this?? Or does anyone have any input into if this is a feasible idea??

Thanks for the input in advance.
