Subject: in floor subs and port question |
|
|
Hey, My parents are finishing up an addition on our house and they have put me in charge of the home theater system. I have decided on putting one 10" sub in a box built between the floor boards.
First question, anyone tried this approach? Where in the room should I put the box? My plan is to let the sound into the room by cutting a rectangular hole and just putting in a heater vent. Like the box shown here: http://www.partsexpress.com/images/300-445m.jpg
Second question. If I decided to build a ported box could I port it into the crawl space? Does much sound come out of the port, or is it pretty much air? I would like to get the extended lows that the ported box has over the sealed.
Any other advice on this sub would be appreciated. I am using the Dayton 10" Titanic sub from Parts Express.
Thank You,
Brandon
