Subject: How to wire DVC sub opinions wanted... |

I'm about ready to wire up my Shiva 12" sub. It's DVC with each coil about 5.6 ohms. The amp I'm using is 150W into 8 ohms or 250 into 4 ohms. There is no indication that the amp is 2 ohm stable. What is the best way to wire the sub??
1) Put the coils in series for a load of about 11.2 ohms.
2) Put the coils in parallel for a load of about 2.9 ohms and risk blowing the amp.
3) Short one coil and wire other coil to amp for a load of 5.6 ohms.
Option 3 will yeild the best (ie-safest) power from the amp, but will I only be using "half" the potential of the woofer??
TIA, Scott
