It needs a high temp voice coil and a rugged design. If you do much live sound you will ruin hifi drivers (torn suspensions, burnt coils) unless you are careful.
In PA systems, Sensitivity is much more important than LF extension. Rarely do prosound speakers have an F3 lower than 35-40Hz. Look for prosound woofers with sensitivities in the 95-99dB range at MCM or partsexpress or do a search on the net for Eminence LF drivers. Expect a fairly large box but you will be rewarded with a lot of bang for buck if you plan a little first. For Keyboards you probably will want a three way design for best results.
