Nice to see a fellow Australian hobbyist.

If it's any help, I've included a LEAP 3.0 simulation of the Shiva.

Aside from breaking up internal standing waves, box filling helps to make the box seem larger to the driver unit -- quite convenient for making small sealed boxes. Dacron has been seen to be (relatively) the worst in making the box acoustically larger than the physical volume. The following is a comparison of box stuffing.
