Your best bet in the absence of clear data about what the cab was designed for is to use the most standard professional 18" woofer in the pro audio business - the JBL 2241 or one its close cousins like the 2240. The driver will take massive abuse before melting, which I can only assume is a big risk in this case. Also, if it does fail, every city has several dealers who can recone them. The "blue book" recone price is half the price of the speaker.

The RCF is good too - but the recone kits will be harder to get.
