Subject: Amp & subwoofer wireing HELP

I have a 45watt per ch x4 Jensen CD player/tuner in my car. I have plenty of power but not alot of bass. I purchased a 300 watt 4x75 amp to drive a subwoofer. The manual tells me how to hook up the amp and the four speakers but not the sub. How do I hook up the subwoofer? Can I use the amp to drive just the subwoofer? This is what I would like to do. Thanks, Clyde

You didn't mention what type of subwoofer you were going to use.

If it's a DVC (dual voice coil) subwoofer, and your new amplifier allows you to "bridge" channels, then you can drive each coil of the DVC with one set of bridged channels.

Thanks for the reply. It's just 1 12" 600watt Shaker subwoofer. I don't think the amp is bridgeble, the manual dose not say. I can't find out for sure until Monday when the company opens. I just want this for more bass at lower volums....thanks
